Fruit Mix Powder

Perfect snack for isopods, springtails and inverts alike!

This powder mix is a great supplemental food that can be given to any of your inverts. (Species doesn't matter as they can all enjoy these mixes!)

Isopods:
There are two types of food. Supplementary and Necessary.
Necessary foods are mainly rotting wood & leaf litter, and any other organic botanicals.
Then there is supplementary foods, which can greatly help promote reproduction & growth, BUT can also be fed just for fun.

Springtails:
Springtails love to eat any kind of decaying organic materials, especially decomposing plants, fruits, or vegetables, as well as fungal foods such as molds and mildews.
The powder mix, if left in a moist enclosure. May start to mold up. Which some people might think to throw it out immediately. Let me stop you right there. It is okay to allow the powder mix to mold, as springtails absolutely LOVE this.


How to feed:

Scoop a small portion of the powder mix & place it into your invert enclosure. You mostly want to see how well your inverts like it. Some species may like the powder mixes more than others. While some species will devour this powder mix in less than an hour or a couple minutes.

If you notice they haven't touched it one bit. That's okay. It probably means your inverts may be full or, just wasn't as interested in it at that time or they just were not into it. So you might be inclined to feed it less often or less of it. BUT if you have springtails, then they will still enjoy it regardless.

If you have seen that all the powder mix has been fully eaten and nothing has been left. Then it's safe to assume that they absolutely loved what they had eaten. So this can be a great option to feed more often to them.

Powder foods can be left in enclosures for up to 48 hours. If you notice they haven't been eaten, the mix can be removed or left to allow springtails to feed on any molds that may start to grow on the mix. After 48 hours. The mix should be removed to avoid any kind of mite outbreaks. As some mites, especially grain mites love to feast on extra uneaten foods. To avoid this, smaller portions of powder mixes should be used rather than larger potions.
