these captive bred Luna moths were fed on paper birch leafs, it’s recommended to stick to a single host plant for the entirety of their generations but other host plants can work you just might have less success getting them to adults.

The Luna moth is one of the most well-known moths in the bug world. With its bright green colour and large size, it is a favourite among hobbyists and a great start into raising moths in canada!

The host plant for these guys ranges but they mainly feed on paper birch trees but will take other types aswell.

  • Paper Birch / White Birch (Betula papyrifera) – The absolute favorite in the north.
  • Willows (Salix species)
  • Maples (Red Maple and Sugar Maple)
  • Oaks (White Oak and Red Oak)
