The Common Walking Stick (Diapheromera femorata) is one of North America’s most fascinating native phasmids, perfectly camouflaged to resemble a small twig. These gentle insects are easy to care for when provided with fresh food and proper humidity, making them an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced keepers.

⚠️ Shipping Notice: These walking sticks are delicate live insects, especially young nymphs. We strongly recommend selecting 1–2 day shipping at checkout whenever possible to reduce travel stress and improve arrival success. Longer transit times can be hard on freshly hatched nymphs.
🌿 Feeding Information: Freshly hatched nymphs strongly prefer bramble (Rubus species) and may refuse other host plants during their first weeks of life. For best success, always offer fresh pesticide-free bramble first. As they mature, many individuals become less picky and may accept additional host plants. Mist plants with water for the nymphs to drink from when needed.
